posthell vs Loomly

Loomly is a calendar and approval tool for marketing teams that plan content together. posthell writes the posts for an owner working alone.

The verdict

Loomly is a solid choice when a few people plan content together and one of them signs it off: a shared calendar, approval steps, an inbox for comments and messages, and an AI assistant that helps write posts and replies. Since Bending Spoons bought it in January 2025 the plans have been cut down to fewer, larger ones, and the entry plan is priced for a small team with several users included. Some longtime customers have written unhappy reviews about the price rises. posthell is cut for a different situation: one owner, no team, and posts that never get written. A line from you about the week becomes posts in your voice, one per network, each held for your tap, from $12 a month. One more practical difference: X is not on Loomly's list of networks as of this update, and posthell includes it.

Why people switch from Loomly to posthell

Approval without a committee

Loomly's approval steps exist so a team can pass a post along before it goes out. In a one-person business the approver is you. posthell keeps that one step and drops the rest: a draft per network, waiting for your tap.

Priced for one person

Loomly's entry plan bundles seats for a team. posthell's Solo plan is $12 a month for 5 accounts, because in most small businesses one person does this.

Written from your week, not a brainstorm

Loomly's assistant suggests ideas and drafts captions. posthell writes from the thing that actually happened: the boiler you fitted on Tuesday, the class that filled up, the new stock in the window.

Making a picture for a post. For the actual shop, staff or customers, it asks for a real photo instead.

Which one is right for you

To be fair to Loomly: A well-organised shared calendar with approval steps and an inbox, which makes it easy for a small marketing team to plan and sign off posts together.

Pick posthell if
  • There is no team to review posts, only you
  • You want the posts written, not a calendar to plan them in
  • You still post to X or Bluesky
Pick Loomly if
  • Several people plan posts together and one of them signs off
  • You want an inbox for comments and messages next to the calendar
  • You post to Google Business Profile

Moving from Loomly takes minutes, not a migration

Paste your website when you sign up and posthell shows you three finished posts, written for your business, before you pay. Then connect your accounts and approve the drafts. There is no content library to import and no dashboard to relearn.

Frequently asked questions

Is posthell a good Loomly alternative?

Yes, for an owner who works alone and wants the posts written. If several people plan content and need a review step, Loomly is built for that.

Did Loomly change its pricing?

Loomly simplified its plans after Bending Spoons bought it in January 2025, and some customers have posted reviews about large increases. Check Loomly's pricing page for current numbers. posthell's plans: Solo is $12 a month ($10 billed yearly), Pro $24 ($18) and Assistant $49 ($37).

Does Loomly post to X?

Not as of this page's update: X is missing from Loomly's list of integrations. posthell includes X, and counts an X post the same as a post anywhere else.

Does Loomly have an MCP server for AI tools?

Not that we could find on Loomly's own site as of this page's update. posthell has one too, as an optional extra for technical users (docs at posthell.com/mcp); by default anything an AI tool sends it waits in Review for your approval.
