posthell vs Tailwind

Tailwind has narrowed to Pinterest for new customers. posthell writes and schedules posts for Pinterest and the other networks you use.

The verdict

Tailwind has been the Pinterest specialist for more than a decade, and it is still very good at it: Pin scheduling, Pinterest SEO and engagement tools, a Ghostwriter that writes Pin titles and descriptions from a link, and SmartPin, which drafts a Pin from your website every week for you to review. Since 25 September 2026, though, new customers can only buy Pinterest products; Instagram and Facebook remain only on older plans that are closed to new sign-ups. If Pinterest is where your customers find you, Tailwind is still the deeper tool. If you used it, or meant to, for Instagram and Facebook too, posthell covers X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest. You tell it what happened this week, it writes a version for each network, Pinterest included, and holds them for your approval.

Why people switch from Tailwind to posthell

Instagram and Facebook are still on the list

If you came to Tailwind for Instagram and Facebook, new plans no longer include them. posthell writes and schedules for both, and for Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn and the rest.

One update, a version for every network

A Pin description, an Instagram caption and a Facebook post want different words. posthell writes each one from the same line about your week, so a bakery's new seasonal loaf gets a Pin, a caption and a post that each fit.

Written from the business, not only from a link

Tailwind's tools work from a URL. posthell also reads your website at sign-up, then writes each week from what you tell it happened: the order you shipped, the workshop you ran, the window you redid.

Which one is right for you

To be fair to Tailwind: More than a decade of Pinterest focus: Pin scheduling, Pinterest SEO tools, Ghostwriter for Pin text, and SmartPin drafts made from your website.

Pick posthell if
  • You need Instagram and Facebook, not only Pinterest
  • You want one update written for every network you use
  • You want posts written from what happened in the business, not only from a link
Pick Tailwind if
  • Pinterest is your main source of traffic
  • You want Pinterest SEO and engagement tools
  • You want a new Pin drafted from your website every week

Moving from Tailwind takes minutes, not a migration

Paste your website when you sign up and posthell shows you three finished posts, written for your business, before you pay. Then connect your accounts and approve the drafts. There is no content library to import and no dashboard to relearn.

Frequently asked questions

Does Tailwind still support Instagram?

Not for new customers. Since 25 September 2026 Tailwind sells Pinterest-only plans; Instagram and Facebook remain on older plans that are closed to new subscribers, per Tailwind's help centre as of this update.

Is posthell a good Tailwind alternative?

Yes, if you need Instagram and Facebook as well as Pinterest, and want the posts written for you. If Pinterest is your whole strategy, Tailwind's Pinterest SEO and engagement tools go further.

Does posthell post to Pinterest?

Yes. posthell publishes pins to Pinterest and writes a version of each update for the other networks you use. It does not have Tailwind's Pinterest SEO or engagement tools.

Does Tailwind have an MCP server for AI tools?

Yes. Tailwind launched an MCP server in January 2026 that lets an AI tool create and schedule Pins (per Tailwind's blog as of this update). posthell has one too, as an optional extra for technical users (docs at posthell.com/mcp); by default anything an AI tool sends it waits in Review for your approval.
